Packing for Your Stay
It is our goal to provide the highest quality of healthcare to our patients. In order to do so, we have established some guidelines. Many of these guidelines are in response to state and federal laws and regulations, but all of our guidelines seek to protect the safety of our patients, staff and visitors.
- Please bring comfortable clothing, but no more than 3 days’ worth
- We suggest comfortable, slip-on shoes or slippers with no shoe laces
- Please let us know ahead of time if you have special bedtime needs, such as C-PAP, oxygen, elevated head of bed, egg crate or air mattress, or incontinence supplies
- Jacket or sweatshirt without strings
- No revealing clothing (e.g., spaghetti straps, bare midriffs, short skirts or shorts, or waistlines below the belly button)
- No strings or inappropriate shirt logos
- No sharp metal accents on clothing (this includes underwire bras)
- No products that include alcohol as an ingredient
- No glass containers or mirrors
- Leisure materials such as books and magazines are recommended, but not materials with spiral wires or metal rings are permitted
- No jewelry (including body piercings)
- No electronic equipment, iPods, or musical instruments
The following items are considered “contraband” and not allowed in the hospital:
- Alcohol or any drug related paraphernalia
- Sharp objects such as razors, scissors, glass bottles, mirrors, needles, pins, aluminum cans, spiral notebooks, keys, makeup pencil sharpeners, paper clips, hair clips, underwire bras, or any item with sharp edges or which could be broken to create sharp edges
- Shoe laces, belts, panty hose, rope, head bands, ace bandages, clothing with draw strings or long ties, any item with an electric cord
- Matches and lighters, aerosol cans or fireworks of any kind
- TVs, stereos, video games, CD players/recorders, computers, pagers, cell phones
- Magazines, books, pictures or clothing items depicting drug or alcohol use, violence, racism, gangs, sexual situations or activities, or otherwise potentially offensive material
- Cameras, camcorders or any other type of audio or visual recording device
- Weapons of any kind, candles or incense, plastic bags
- Other items deemed inappropriate or dangerous by our clinical staff
How Do I Schedule an Assessment?
Our staff will help you determine if a face-to-face assessment is the appropriate next step. Normally we can schedule assessments on the same day that you call us.
